Published Monday, 12 February 20244 out of 5Alpaca Yarns Luxurious Fusion - 4ply Yarn is a really nice summer yarn to work with. I've used it twice now for tops, and it has the most beautiful drape and subtle lustre. It glides nicely on the needles thanks to the silk, and it doesn't split when knitting. I find it quite effortless. It's hard to tell from the hank, but the linen doesn't take the colour as well as the silk so it gives the finished garment a subtle melange effect. It's also a bit rustic as the linen fibres are grassy and stick out a lot. It kind bugs me, and it's hard to resist pulling them out while knitting, but I don't really notice them once the garment is finished and blocked. Overall I really like working with it and have found it a good substitute for 100% silk patterns.
