My mom has been using her stand for a long time (multiple years) now (she does thread painting mainly). She asked specifically for this stand after she did a lot of research, because it offers a lot of ways to adjust and customise to get just the right position. The stand is built very well and has lasted with no troubles whatsoever. It has plastic wing nuts for tightening the joints, and although she has arthritis in the one hand, mom has never battled to work the stand on her own. The stand enables my mom to get into the right position to successfully stitch for long to very periods, or short spots between things where she can park her needle, and simply move the stand out of the way. The stand also frees up a hand to allow her to use both for her stitching. Mom loves it and says she couldn't have done the stitching she has without it, and can't imagine stitching without it. As I said previously this stand is pure gold.
