Kuretake Yamato Shinseki Chiin Inkstone

Even after long hours of use, it maintains a stable amount of ink and provides an unprecedented grinding experience that is closer to that of a natural inkstone.

A Flat surface for grinding down ink stick & ink pool to collect the ink

The inkstone can be used on both sides, with the front side for solid ink and the back side for calligraphy ink.

Great to use with the Kuretake Saiboku Shimbi – Ink sticks

Material is PP/Silica-based filler

Product size: 75×25×136 mm (3.0 x 1.0 x 5.4 inches)

How to use Ink stone

Drop a coin-size Droplet of water on the flat hill of the ink stone
with some pressure, grind the ink stick into the water in a circular motion
when the ink becomes your preferred consistency, guide the ink towards the ink pool of the ink stone

repeat steps until you have cerate the preferred amount of ink

After use

Remove any remaining ink by gently wiping the ink stone using a cloth or paper and then rinse with water.
